Recipe for Communion Bread

Sift dry ingredients together 3 times. This is important.

4 cups whole wheat flour

2 cups white flour

2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

2 1/2 teaspoons salt

Stir in 8 teaspoons of oil. Set aside.

1 1/2 cups + 4 Tablespoons very hot water (minimum 180 degrees)

6 Tablespoons honey

6 Tablespoons molassis

Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients. Mix well. Dough should be slightly sticky. Do not knead.

Divide into 4 balls and flatten to 1/4 inch. Bake each in a pie tin.

With a sharp knife, score the top of each loaf into 8 equal pie shaped sections for easy breaking after bread is baked.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and brush with oil. Return to oven and bake additional 5-7 minutes. Let cool.

Yields four 16 ounce loaves. Each loaf serves 50-70 people. Freezes well.
