God is good when life is unfair, Scary, Changes, is sad or is Good.
When the Israelite people are enslaved, God is good when Moses is saved from the Nile. When Moses was afraid to return to Israel, God is good and empowers Moses. When the Israelite people face changes, God is good by providing food and safety. When the people are sad at the loss of Jesus, God is good and raises Jesus on the third day. When life is good, God is good by showing love through others who can show hope and love to the world.
What does the lord’s prayer really mean?
"Our Father" is Abba, a loving, caring parent who is also the creator. "Your will be done..." is accomplished through each person. "Our daily bread..." refers to nourishing, sheltering and clothing the world. "Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us," is a conditional clause. We forgive others just as God forgives us.

Modern interpretation of the "Good Samaritan" story. Jesus says it's more than being nice to everyone. It's really about loving those that we find difficult to love...enemies, strangers, those on the outskirts of society, those who are different than us in appearance, speech, culture, economic status.

Jesus Sends Demons into pigs
june 23, 2019
People see Jesus send demons from a man into pigs. The pigs run to their death. The observers are afraid. The possessed man is so grateful he asks to go with Jesus, but Jesus says he should go back home to his family and declare what God has done for you. Jesus trusts this man to share the good news of God's love. The lesson suggests we as believers can go home and share the blessings we feel from God.

In Luke 13 Jesus teaches in parable form. In the parable, the fig tree symbolizes Israel or perhaps the world, the gardner symbolizes Jesus, a man symbolizes God. The parable might be a lesson to repent of sin or it might be a foreshadow of Jesus giving his life for peoples sin.

love thy enemy

Love your enemy. Ask for blessings for the person who makes it difficult for you. Jesus is clear. Do good and expect nothing in return. You will be children of God. Be merciful, do not judge, do not condem. Forgive and be forgiven. This is the gospel. Recall the Lord’s prayer that says, “Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.” How can we do this? Call on Christ for help.

Luke’s version of the Beatitudes. Think about those who are rich, those who are poor, those who are hungry, and those who are full, those who weep and those who are persecuted. Is this a call to action, each of us being the hands, feet and heart of Jesus, looking after those in need? Make the gospel real in the lives of those around us.

Baptism in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost means God is actively involved in your life. God calls us to do his work. Maybe just a smile. Maybe the power to forgive others. Maybe taking the first step to say sorry. All to create community, family and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Mary and Joseph lose 12 year old Jesus in Jerusalem during Passover. They search for three days and find Jesus who says, “I’m right here.” Are you searching for Jesus? What do you think?

From God, we have the gift of giving. In giving, we actually receive. God provides the resources and will to give. God displays a character of giving when Adam and Eve receive the Garden of Eden and a second chance. He gives Abraham and Sarah a child. God gives freedom through Moses. He gives the gift of communion. God gives forgiveness through his son, Jesus. We model God’s generosity when we give through our vocations, talents, abilities, prayer, study, invitation, service and worship.

Through other people Jesus helps us grow beyond ourself. He gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit leading and enabling us to reach out to other people. What does it mean to be disciples of Jesus? Disciples serve, give themseleves to God in everyday life.
